Jeffcoat won Gold in the 50m Backstroke at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England

Jeffcoat is a country boy who spent his childhood growing up on the Coromandel and King Country. He began his swim training at Fairfield under Ken Nixon. Jeffcoat attended boarding school in Hamilton before moving to Auckland to swim under Mitchell Nairn in 2019. He has competed internationally in Australia, China, Papua New Guinea, Hungary and England.
Jeffcoat broke the national record to finish just ahead of South African Pieter Coetze in the final. The 23-year-old was one of the top-ranked athletes in his event heading to Birmingham and was the second-fastest qualifier for the final.
Racing for Club37 Swim Club under coach Mitch Nairn, Jeffcoat is a backstroke specialist.
