Monique Wieruszowski is a promising young swimmer from New Plymouth, New Zealand, born in South Africa. At just 15 years old, Monique has already made waves in the swimming world. She recently qualified for her first Long Course world championships in Fukuoka and set both the 50m and 100m Open New Zealand Breaststroke records.
Monique's talent was on full display at the McDonald's 2022 Queensland state championship where she broke the all comers record for the 15 year old girls 50m Breaststroke. She also broke the New Zealand Age Group record for the 15 year old girls 100m and 50m Breaststroke at the same championship.
In the same year, Monique claimed the Women's Open champion title for 50m Breaststroke at the New Zealand short course championship 2022, which saw her qualify for the FINA World Short Course Swimming Championship in Melbourne, Australia. With such impressive accomplishments at such a young age, Monique is definitely a swimmer to watch in the future.
